In August 2016, floodwaters in Baton Rouge and surrounding parishes forced families to flee their homes to find safety. The American Red Cross called the disaster the worst in the U.S. since Superstorm Sandy, and over a dozen people lost their lives. Many Team Members call this area home and were displaced by the floods and a number of properties were impacted.

Voluntary contributions to the Louisiana Flooding campaign supported these Team Members, properties and the local community as they begin the recovery process. Donations also supported Save the Children and the American Red Cross, as they responded to this natural disaster. To further support recovery and rebuilding efforts, Hilton matched donations by Team Members up to $25K.

*Team Members include employees at Hilton corporate offices and its owned and managed properties, and employees of franchisees who work on property at independently owned and operated franchised properties in the Hilton portfolio.
